2025 has been nothing short of a turning point for Big Blue Floorball School.
As we reach the halfway mark of the year, it’s time to pause, reflect, and acknowledge how far we’ve come—and where we’re headed.
1. From Learn-to-Play to Competitive Development
The biggest shift in our academy’s direction this year has been our evolution from a “learn-to-play” programme to a values-based, competitive training environment.
While we still welcome beginners and younger children to explore floorball in a fun, nurturing space, our older categories have embraced a more competitive focus. We’ve introduced new drills, revamped our sessions, brought in structured progression, and placed a strong emphasis on discipline and effort.
This change wasn’t just cosmetic—it was a deliberate step to match the hunger and potential we saw in our players.
2. BBFS Orcas & Marlins: Identity and Intensity
Our U16 girls (Orcas) and U16 boys (Marlins) have continued to impress both in attitude and performance.
The Orcas are pushing boundaries in training and have been growing in confidence and composure. The Marlins, now competing in the SFL Men's Conference League, are testing themselves against stronger, older opponents—and proving they belong.
Both teams are now running with their own content calendars, team pages, and unique identities within the BBFS system.
This has helped players take more ownership and pride in their roles.
3. The BBFS Japan Tour: A First Overseas Step
In June, BBFS completed its first overseas floorball tour with a trip to Hokkaido, Japan. The experience went beyond floorball—it tested character, resilience, and adaptability.
Our players trained with Japanese clubs, played friendlies, experienced local culture, and bonded as a team.
More importantly, it showed our players that the game is global—and so are their opportunities.
4. Next Up: Finland with Esport Oilers
We’re taking things a notch higher.
BBFS is now working with Esport Oilers—the Finnish League Champions and one of the top floorball clubs in the world—for a December 2025 training tour. The camp will include training sessions, player exchanges, and even a live match viewing.
The partnership is our next step in exposing our players to the highest levels of floorball and offering them an experience that few youth players ever get.
We already have 7 confirmed participants and are looking for more to make this a tour to remember.
5. Adult Floorball: Structured, Serious, and Fun
We’ve also introduced structured adult floorball sessions at BBFS. Alternating between Saturday 1pm and Wednesday evenings, these sessions are designed for adults who want proper training, competitive matches, and a commitment to fitness.
Floorball isn’t just for kids—and our adult players are proving that week in, week out.
6. Storvretacupen Singapore & Pesta Sukan 2025
BBFS is also participating in two major local tournaments this season:
Storvretacupen Singapore 2025: We’ve entered 10 teams across U10 and U12 boys and girls. Training has been intense, and the players are buzzing with excitement.
Pesta Sukan 2025: Multiple BBFS teams will be competing across various age groups. It’s another chance to test ourselves and measure our progress.
7. A New Chapter in the West
Moving forward, BBFS is expanding to the West. That’s right—after months of planning, we’re getting ready to bring our signature training philosophy to a brand-new venue.
We’re not revealing the exact location just yet, but Westsiders… you’ll want to keep your eyes on this space.
Stay tuned. It’s coming soon.
Final Word
Whether it’s training, tournaments, or tours—BBFS is levelling up.
But while we’re getting more competitive, our values stay the same: Effort. Growth. Gratitude. And a love for the game that binds us all.
We’re only halfway through the year. Let’s keep building.
